5.30.2010 THE MISSIONAL CHALLENGE
Today is a fifth Sunday. Here at LifePath we spend every fifth Sunday focused on a specific missional outreach locally in the Twin Cities or some foreign location in another portion of the world. Over our couple of years together we have sent multiplied thousands of dollars to the mission field in the form of bibles, kids curriculum, living supplies, and a host of other critical needs. For example; Africa, Asia, Muldova, Liberia, and the inner city right here in Minneapolis have all received aid from our congregation.
Today I would like to call our attention to an important task at hand by inviting the Rays, a missionary couple in our own Church family, to share about our upcoming trip to Kenya Africa this year. I have corresponded with the Foursquare pastor there and am so excited for the relationship developing and the future possibilities of our church sending well trained and prepared missionary teams to serve in that region of the world with other members of our Foursquare family. We have a financial deadline facing us now and I hope it will seem good to you and the Holy Spirit to invest in this endeavor.
I would also like to take a few minutes today to speak to what I perceive to be a primary challenge we, and indeed all growing churches, face in our current state of life and growth as a church. A short pastoral chat after the missions presentation will conclude our service time today. I am looking forward to our time together.
