7.4.2010 LIFE IN THE SPIRIT: POWER OF THE PROMISE George Cooper Matthew 12:36
Part Four: The Power of The Promise - Language Today we continue our series called “Life in The Spirit”. The hope I have for us as we look carefully at the Person and work of The Holy Spirit is that we all become more aware of and inclined toward the gracious offer God has made to us in Christ and begin to more fully bear the nature and power of our God.
We have seen that it has been God’s desire from the beginning for His sons and daughters to have His Spirit within them… in fact He has promised to do this since the tragic events of Genesis 3. We have discovered that The Holy Spirit is not a power or thing but is in fact a Person. He has as equally distinctive a role and ministry among us as The Father or The Son. We have learned that the purpose of The Spirit is to restore people to the original relationship and destiny in God’s heart when He created mankind. In short, The Person of The Spirit is the Promised Power of God to His children for the Purpose of Restoration and Redemption.
Today we will continue looking at the Power of The Promise of The Spirit within us. We will be challenged today with the call of God to have our language (the words we speak) be an instrument of life and not death.
